Institut Agro is the largest French public institution for higher education and research in Agriculture, Food, and the Environment, with over 6,000 students – including 4,000 graduate students (master’s degrees and PhD) – and 1,400 staff. Institut Agro's 6 campuses and 35 research labs are located across four of the most emblematic French regions for agriculture and food: Brittany, Pays de la Loire, Burgundy, and Occitanie.
As a public institution dedicated to supporting agroecological, food, and environmental transitions, Institut Agro aims to train and empower a new generation of change-makers capable of imagining and engineering sustainable solutions to better feed the world while preserving the environment.
Research and training activities at Institut Agro encompass the full spectrum of plant and animal sciences, including viticulture and oenology, horticulture, fisheries and aquatic sciences, as well as landscape. It also supports regional development and public policy, provides guidance and assistance to vocational agricultural training institutions throughout France, and contributes to scientific, technical, and educational cooperation in Europe and across the world.
